FIRST ALERT: Snow continues this morning with highest totals in the foothills and Smokies

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Bands of snow will continue along and east of I-75 and especially south of I-40. The foothills and Smokies could see 6-12 inches. 3-6 inches is possible in Knox county. Temperatures will start in the teens to around 20 with wind chills near zero. Winds north 5-15 mph with higher gusts.

FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

THIS AFTERNOON: Snow in the morning will give way to flurries in the afternoon. Heavier snow will continue in the higher elevations of the Smokies through sunset. Wind chills will range from 0 to -15 Saturday morning. Highs will only reach the upper teens to low 20s.

SUNDAY: Morning lows will range from 8-12 degrees with feels-like temps near zero. Highs will be in the teens and 20s with a partly cloudy sky…
