Knoxville donut shop Status Dough to close after 9 years

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A popular Knoxville donut shop announced on Monday it will be closing its doors after nearly a decade in business.

Status Dough revealed on social media that Wednesday, Feb. 4 will be its final day at its original location at 6535 Kingston Pike. Locations in Farragut and downtown Knoxville have closed.

The flagship store opened its doors in 2017 before expanding to Gay Street two years later and adding the Farragut location in 2023. It made regular appearances on Cityview Magazine’s annual Best of the Best list, including being voted third-best donut in the 2025 edition released in November…
