If one drives down Cherokee Boulevard in Sequoyah Hills and looks only at the street, he or she might think the neighborhood is a new subdivision due to all the trucks and cars of construction workers parked along the road.
But it is simply one feature of the otherwise classic and historic neighborhood, with several of the homes being seriously remodeled, enlarged or even being virtually rebuilt.
“If you want to be in the neighborhood, you will purchase and renovate the way you want,” said Realtor Joyce Tapscott, a luxury property specialist with Wallace Real Estate, in explaining all the alterations taking place. “There are very few lots on Cherokee, and some people are taking the homes back down to the studs.”…
