Knox County Schools is running low on days stored up to close schools for weather or sickness related events after two winter storms have blown into Knoxville.
The district has eight days allotted in its calendar to call off classes. It has used six of those days so far — two Jan. 26-27 after the ice storm and four Feb. 2-5 for the snowstorm — and KCS added back a half day when it changed a scheduled half-day Jan. 28 into a full school day.
That leaves two and a half days left in its calendar for snow or weather days in the academic year…
