Sun’s Out, Teeth Chatter As Knoxville Wakes To Deep Chill

Knoxville woke up Saturday to blue skies and breath-you-can-see cold, with morning temperatures parked in the upper 20s to low 30s and an afternoon high expected near 34°F. Sunshine is back after Friday’s front, but higher ridges and parts of southwest Virginia stay under weather advisories through the morning. It will be a cold, dry day, with a light north breeze that keeps it feeling raw if you’re out and about.

The East Tennessee mountains and nearby Southwest Virginia are still taking the main hit from the departing system, with about 2–4 inches of snow forecast above roughly 2,500 feet and up to 6 inches possible on the highest peaks.
