Knoxville realtors push to build generational wealth through homeownership

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Two women in the Knoxville realty scene are paving the way for homeownership and personal success in the Black community.

Both said they hope to set an example and help future buyers and realtors break into the industry.

“Having a Black client versus a white client, there’s not much difference in the process of buying a house. The only difference is that a lot of times, the minority community really don’t feel like homeownership is attainable,” said Realtor and Broker Melissa Nelson.
