Powell Elementary rezoning proposal met with some pushback from local parents

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — Knox County Schools recommended rezoning some Powell Elementary families at its board meeting last week.

The school district is aiming to manage Powell’s growing population with the school’s limited capacity and aging portable classrooms. At the board meeting Thursday, KCS officials gave a presentation about why they believe rezoning is the best option.
