Road work impacting East Tennessee drivers over Valentine’s Day weekend

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Planning a romantic getaway to Pigeon Forge or heading to a Valentine’s dinner in Downtown? 6 News anchor Bo Williams has what you need to know to avoid delays across East Tennessee this weekend.

Across the region, Tennessee Department of Transportation crews are working to repair potholes and clear debris caused by winter weather around the state’s highways. On Thursday, TDOT spokesperson Mark Nagi shared videos of crews working in Knox County to repair potholes on Kingston Pike in Farragut and on Western Avenue near I-640. He also shared video of crews filling a small sinkhole along Oak Ridge Highway in Karns.

Along with pothole repairs, the TDOT also released its weekly construction report for East Tennessee between February 13 and 18. The report outlines lane closures, traffic shifts, and extended delays on major routes. Drivers are asked to expect delays and use extreme caution when workers are present.
