KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Knoxville Police Department‘s organized crime unit arrested a man on Friday as part of an investigation into two overdose deaths, KPD said.
Gordon Wayne Davis, 34, was arrested at his home on Augusta Avenue. According to KPD, officers found three-and-a-half ounces of powder cocaine, four ounces of crack cocaine, two-and-a-half pounds of marijuana, psilocybin mushroom bars, additional drug paraphernalia, $3,745 in cash, and a handgun.

Davis had been wanted since June 2020 on charges of violation of probation related to drug distribution charges, police said. In January 2021, he was suspected of being involved in a shooting at the Vistas apartments on East Hill Avenue. He was later charged with felon in possession of a handgun and remained a fugitive until Friday.
