Woman injured after hit-and-run in North Knoxville, police seek info

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Knoxville Police Department is investigating after a pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run Wednesday night, police said.

Around 9:15 p.m., a woman was leaving the KenJo gas station when she was struck by a vehicle on the 1700 block of North Broadway. The vehicle fled the scene, police said.

Minutes later, a bystander reported that the woman had been struck. KPD officers responded, and she was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with injuries that were suspected to be non-life-threatening, according to the KPD.
