For the past 48 years, I’ve worked at the CVS Distribution Center in Knoxville. Day in and day out, my colleagues and I serve communities in Tennessee and beyond, ensuring prescription medications and household items – things like toothpaste, laundry detergent, and even snacks – are picked, packed and shipped from our facility to CVS stores.
While we may not be providing direct patient care, or interacting with customers one-on-one, our Distribution Center is critical to keeping our stores and pharmacies stocked and ready to serve our Tennessee communities.
Recently proposed legislation known as SB 2040, or the FAIR Rx Act, threatens our pharmacies, our stores and our jobs. Despite the title, nothing in this bill will make prices more fair or lower for patients at the pharmacy counter.
