KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The trial for a man charged with murder in connection with the 2024 death of a Knoxville woman is underway.
Marquis Ellis is one of four people charged in the murder of 22-year-old Danishka Mejia. She was found dead in a home on Gilbert Lane nearly two years ago. He was indicted on numerous charges, including first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, especially aggravated kidnapping and aggravated burglary.
