Power restoration underway after storms moved through East TN

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Power is being restored after thousands were without power due to the strong storms that went through East Tennessee overnight into early Monday morning.

The Knoxville Utilities Board reports about 488 without power as of 1:30 p.m. on Monday. This is down from the peak of 7,700 Monday morning.

“While damage is widespread, our crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power to every customer,” KUB wrote on social media.
