KNOXVILLE, Tenn — After two days of deliberations, a jury Monday afternoon returned a guilty verdict on multiple counts for Marquis Ellis, a 22-year-old Knoxville man charged with helping carry out a 2024 revenge killing.
Most notably, he was found guilty of first-degree murder and several counts of felony murder. Those will all merge into a single murder conviction as is standard.
He was also found guilty of multiple counts of attempted first-degree murder and especially aggravated kidnapping, among other counts. Jurors also convicted him of a drug count and imposed a $500,000 fine, an amount he likely never will be able to pay…
