Maryville Apostolic coach suspended after assault allegation

MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A coach at Apostolic Christian Academy faces a charge of domestic violence with aggravated assault after an incident in the school’s parking lot, court records said. His contract with the school was suspended.

Records from the Blount County Sheriff’s Office said that on March 9, Kenneth Dean, Jr., 31, of Alcoa, was in an argument with a woman while in a vehicle in the school’s parking lot. According to the complaint, during the argument, Dean began choking her and put his hand over her mouth, restricting her breathing, according to records. The injuries were still visible when she spoke to police on March 11, records said.

Dean was taken into custody on March 12 without incident…
