Proposed development plan raises concerns for some East Knox County neighbors

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — A proposed rezoning plan could bring 194 multi-family units to East Knox County. The area of development sits between Pleasant Hill and Kitts Roads. At a community meeting, dozens showed up to hear from the developer about the plan.

Thomas Krajewski with Homestead Land Holdings said the property is in a “planned growth area,” a place where leaders and the community shared they’d like to see development. He said the current contract is to make the area a town center/mixed-use type, which would allow for high-density housing and commercial usage. However, he said they’re focusing on the housing aspect first.
