A 36-year-old man died after being struck by a van on Western Avenue near Eubanks Avenue around 9:00 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026. According to the Knoxville Police Department, a Dodge Town & Country Caravan left the roadway, ran onto the sidewalk, and hit the pedestrian before crashing into a utility pole. The 48-year-old driver told officers that mechanical trouble caused him to lose control. Both men were taken to UT Medical Center, where the pedestrian was pronounced dead. No charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing.
