KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Scott Johnson flew Black Hawk helicopters in the military for seven years before transitioning to a 24-year career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

After graduating from the University of Eastern Kentucky with a degree in criminal justice, Johnson decided he wanted more than just a career in law enforcement. He wanted to have his heads in the clouds, literally.

“I got accepted into flight school, rotary wing or helicopter flight school in 1990,” Johnson said. “So after college, I went straight into the Army to Warrant Officer Candidate School and then flight school, and did that from 1990 to 97 flying medevac.”…
