Knox County Schools reviewing visitor protocols after former student charged with trespassing

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Superintendent Dr. Jon Rysewyk said that Knox County Schools was reviewing protocols, holding additional training, improving communication, and adding signage after a former student was charged with trespassing.

Rysewyk said a former student tried to enter the Hardin Valley campuses and was admitted into the high school and elementary school. He said they were reviewing the incident and their protocols.

“Safety is extremely important to us,” he said. “What happened is not acceptable.”
