Life Is Going Back To Normal- With Fear

On Patrol: Live can show officers in extremely dangerous and potentially life threatening situatons. However, no one thinks that anyone will ever get hurt; at least that is the hope. Unfortunately, Deputy Dalton Swanger was not that lucky, as viewers saw him get struck on live television. He responded to gunshots when he was hit in the head by what appeared to be a brick or a large rock. What happened next was unimaginable as he was placed in a coma. He needed surgery, which was hard to come by, and a GoFundMe was started.

Regardless of what he was going through and the trauma, Deputy Swanger was planning his return to work. Now, that day has come, and he officially returned to his job in Knox County, Tennessee, on April 3rd, 2026. His girlfriend, Stephania Pumphrey, shared a sweet message for Deputy Swanger on social media, letting everyone know how wrecked they were ten months ago. However, life is slowly going back to normal, but the fear will always be there.

The Knox County Sherriff’s office was just as excited to have Deputy Dalton Swanger back on the team. They shared this message:

“Welcome back, Deputy Swanger. We are grateful to have you in our blue family and thankful for God’s protection! You’re in good hands, Knox County!”

On Patrol: Live will not be new Friday and Saturday due to the Easter holiday. However, they may post a special message to Deputy Swanger, honoring his big return to the job.
