UPDATE: The services have been announced for Knoxville Police Department Detective Mel Pierce, who passed away on Thursday, April 2 following a months-long battle with cancer.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7 at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church at 701 Merchant Drive with the service to follow at approximately 7 p.m.
