Witness followed suspect after fatal gas station shooting in South Knox County

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — Christopher Greer, the suspect in a fatal shooting, appeared in court on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing. His case will now go before a grand jury.

Greer is accused of shooting and killing 34-year-old Jackie Ogle at an Exxon gas station on Chapman Highway on March 7. He has been charged with first-degree murder.

6 News learned from court records that Greer was arrested after a man who witnessed the shooting followed Greer to his home. That witness, Ronnie Murphy, testified during the Tuesday hearing.
