NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A wanted man convicted of aggravated statutory rape in Hamilton County was arrested in Nashville after reportedly fleeing his trial, according to NBC affiliate Local 3 News.
James Harold Tolliver, 67, of Knoxville, was on trial for the rape of a runaway teen in Chattanooga in 2022. On April 9, the third day of his trial, Tolliver disappeared. According to Local 3 News, the jury found him guilty of assault and aggravated statutory rape, despite his absence. On April 10, Hamilton County law enforcement issued a warrant for his arrest.
