Lafayette police warn residents to lock vehicles as break-ins spike

LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — Lafayette police are warning residents to lock their vehicle doors as the city is experiencing a spike in vehicle burglaries, with many cars being left unlocked with valuables still inside.

Detectives said unlocked vehicles with items such as guns, purses, and laptops inside make easy targets for thieves.
