BREAUX BRIDGE, La. (KLFY) – A serious situation developing across portions of Lafayette and St. Martin Parishes from very heavy rainfall.
More than 5 inches of rain has fallen in the area flooding parts of Breaux Bridge and the Cecilia area. Both areas are reporting cars stalled on roadways due to high waters.
There are now confirmed reports of Ochsner St. Martin in Breaux Bridge was taking on water. This Flash Flood Warning is now tagged as CONSIDERABLE meaning that dangerous flooding is occurring.
The intersections of Anse Broussard & Cecilia Sr. High School highways AND Grand Point & Cecilia Sr. High School highways are closed at this time because of flooding. Please find an alternate route, or stay off the roadway until the flash flood warning has ended…
