Broussard expands water supply plans with multi-phase project

BROUSSARD, La. (NEWS 15) — The City of Broussard announced an expansion of its water supply plans, with the first two of three phases of a major infrastructure project now funded and a third phase expected to break ground in early 2027.

City leaders confirmed that funding for the first two phases of the Garber Road project was secured through a combination of city council allocations, state resources, and water sector programs. Mayor Ray Bourque said the third phase is expected to be under construction in the first quarter of 2027.

Following the completion of the project, the city plans to turn its attention to water upgrades along Albertson’s Parkway…
