LAFAYETTE, La. (KALB) – The suspect accused of murdering a Deputy U.S. Marshal in Alexandria had a court hearing in Lafayette on Monday.
A judge advised Clarence Frazier, Jr. that he is accused of murdering a federal officer.
During his hearing, Frazier qualified for a court-provided lawyer and waived his right to a detention hearing. This means he will remain in the custody of U.S. Marshals until his trial.
Investigators said Frazier, Jr. killed Deputy Marshal Drew Hanson a week ago along Rutland Road.
