After paying off her own student loans, Lafayette artist seeks to help other artists do the same

After paying off more than $130,000 in student loans through the art businesses she built, Lafayette artist and entrepreneur Colette Bernard decided to help someone else do the same.

Bernard, owner of Cocodrie Collective, has launched the Cocodrie Collective Art School Student Debt Relief Fund, an annual award intended to help artists working in the arts pay down student loan debt.
