Driver Arrested After Fatal Crash Into Lafayette Home

A 39-year-old Broussard man was killed, and two other passengers were injured after an SUV left SE Evangeline Thruway and crashed into a Lafayette residence early Sunday morning, according to the Lafayette Police Department.

Police say the driver, 28-year-old Justyce Griffith of Alexandria, was later arrested after investigators determined she was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and tested over the legal limit.

The fatal crash happened around 3 a.m. Sunday, September 6, in the 1100 block of SE Evangeline Thruway.
