A proposal for the city of Youngsville to annex property along Guillot Road slated for development as a subdivision failed after nearby residents spoke out against the measure.
Council members on Thursday voted 2-2 on whether to introduce an annexation ordinance for a public hearing, which under the rules of the Lawrason Act means the motion fails. Lindy Bolgiano and Nick Niland voted for the measure, while Simone Champagne and Shannon Baras voted against it.
