A Lafayette man was sentenced Thursday to 20 years of hard labor for his role in the 2021 shooting death of a 16-year-old Northside High School dancer, closing out a case that took more than four years to resolve.
Natrevian Simpson, 21, pleaded guilty to manslaughter under a deal that reduced the charge from second-degree murder. Judge Royale Colbert handed down the sentence in the 15th Judicial District court on Thursday.
