LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — Work is underway at the former Ovey Comeaux High School campus as the Lafayette Parish School System moves forward with plans to transform the site into a new workforce training center.
LPSS Superintendent Francis Touchet Jr. said asbestos removal is underway at the campus, with demolition expected to begin in November and construction to follow early next year. The district’s goal is to have the new career center ready for the 2028-29 school year.
