BREAUX BRIDGE, La. (KLFY) — The emergence of a new designer drug in Acadiana has led to an arrest by a multi-agency investigation, authorities said.
The drug is MDMB-4en-PINACA, known as “Spice” or “Gerb,” a synthetic cannabinoid that is much more potent and toxic than marijuana. It is a liquid usually consumed via vape. Consumption can cause altered mental status, tachycardia, hypertension, respiratory depression, seizures, hallucinations, paranoia and acute kidney injury.
