(KMDL-FM) Officials with the Louisiana Lottery confirmed early this morning that a Mega Millions lottery ticket sold in New Iberia was a big winner in Friday’s multi-state lottery drawing. This makes the third big lottery win in New Iberia over the past six months.
On August 12th two Easy 5 Lottery tickets were sold in New Iberia. Both tickets had the same numbers, and those numbers matched the numbers needed to claim a $70,000 jackpot. Since there were two winners, the prize was split at $35,000.
Two New Iberia Tickets Split Major Lottery Prize – Only 1 Has Been Redeemed
Here’s where the Easy 5 New Iberia story takes a twist. One of those winning tickets has been redeemed. The other remains unclaimed. The ticket’s purchaser has until February of next year to claim the prize.
Mega Millions held its Friday drawing last night for a top prize of $321 million for the annuity prize. The lump sum prize was estimated to be $131.1 million. There were no jackpot winners sold for Friday’s Mega Millions.
