Louisiana overcomes Homecoming adversity to deliver walk-off winner

Homecoming is supposed to be a week of excitement, nostalgia, and good vibes. For the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns (4-1, 1-0 SBC), this year’s Homecoming had more adversity than they would have liked.

It began when promising young linebacker Conor McPherson was ruled out for the rest of the season with an upper body injury. This was a brutal break for a UL defense that has been the strength of the team early on and just put up a record-breaking performance against Charlotte last week.

Then, there was a Board of Regents suggestion that UL, Louisiana Tech, and ULM move down to the FCS, providing another negative set of commentary points that were discussed throughout the week…
