It took longer than expected in 2015 to convince the powers that be that an outdoor beer garden could become a family-friendly destination in downtown Lafayette. But after obtaining the first beer garden license in the state, Robert Guercio and Carey McCue transformed a vacant lot on Jefferson Street into a cool, open-air venue known as The Wurst Biergarten.
