According to the National Weather Service, the storm was described as a microburst, which produces wind speeds of 75 to 80 miles per hour. Foreman said everything happened so fast that the family didn’t have enough time to get out of the storm.

“It was so fast that I didn’t even think about evacuating or looking to find a safe spot,” Foreman said. “If that would have hit us, we would all be gone.”
