Opelousas Police Chief Graig Leblanc booked after detectives get video of shooting incident

St. Landry Parish detectives obtained video footage of the domestic shooting incident that involved Opelousas Police Chief Graig Leblanc, his wife — St. Landry Sheriff’s Captain Crystal Leblanc, and Opelousas Police Officer Savannah Butler.

The incident that occurred on Dec. 22, where LeBlanc and his wife were shot, occurred at Butler’s home, according to the investigation. The video obtained uncovered additional evidence in the case showing that there was probable cause to issue arrest warrants for Chief Leblanc and Opelousas Police Officer Tyrone Abrams.

According to the video, it showed that after being shot, Crystal Leblanc was attempting to get Chief Leblanc in her vehicle so they could seek medical attention for their injuries. When Chief Leblanc attempted to enter the passenger door of Crystal’s vehicle, Butler pulled Chief Leblanc away from the vehicle, and they both went back inside the residence.

Crystal Leblanc is then seen exiting her vehicle and knocking on the door of the home. Chief Leblanc is seen and heard advising his wife not to call anyone about the shooting after they both were shot.
