OPELOUSAS, La. ( KLFY ) — An Opelousas shooting on Sunday morning leaves one victim injured.
The Opelousas Police Department learned from a local hospital that 29-year-old Keenan Charles was there with a gunshot wound in his right hand.
Authorities discovered Charles was shot in the 500 block of East South Street by someone he was involved in an altercation with.
Dexter Broussard Jr., 30, of Opelousas was identified as the suspect, according to OPD.
Broussard was charged with attempted manslaughter and disturbing the peace by fighting. Charles was also charged with disturbing the peace by fighting.
