OPELOUSAS, La. ( KLFY ) – A St. Landry Parish woman is arrested after authorities found a large amount of illegal drugs in her home.
According to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, “Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance. During the domestic investigation, it was learned that Hattie Savoy, who resided at the residence, was in possession of a large amount of marijuana and a firearm.”

Sheriff Guidroz says deputies returned to the home and searched it after receiving verbal permission. During that search, authorities say the found they found, one Smith and Wesson 9 mm handgun, 1-¼ pounds of suspected marijuana, 7 ounces of THC Wax and 60 Suboxone strips. Authorities say Savoy admitted that all of the narcotics were ordered from California on her cellular telephone, and also admitted that she was distributing the marijuana.
Savoy was booked into the St. Landry Jail and charged with the following:
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule III CDS (Suboxone);
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS (Marijuana);
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS (THC Wax);
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS (THC Moon Rocks);
- Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a CDS;
- Illegal Use of a CDS in the Presence of Persons Under 17 years-of-age (3 counts); and
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
