7-year old genius accepted into MENSA

YOUNGSVILLE, La ( KLFY )– A Youngsville family is excited about their seven-year-old son being a genius. Kingston Lawrence and his parents share how it feels to be a part of MENSA, a high IQ society.

Kingston Lawrence is a seven-year old kid who likes to play with Legos and build things. He says he feels like a regular kid, but with an IQ between 145 and 150, Kingston is anything but regular.

Compared to T.J. Henderson from the 1990’s sitcom, Smart Guy, Kingston Lawrence scored in the 99th percentile on an IQ test that classifies his score as extremely high. His parents Deidra and Kala (kay-la) Lawrence say when they got the news, they were shocked.

“He’s always interested in learning new things and trying things. And so it’s just it’s wonderful to see,” said Deidra.

“My initial reaction was very nervous. I was just like, oh my god, what is this? What do you do with that? I didn’t know it was that big of a deal. His that intellectual people who they have, you know,” said Kala.
