BROUSSARD, La. ( KLFY ) — In Broussard, the Whiskful Baking Company specializes in allergy-free king cakes to make sure everyone gets to enjoy the Mardi Gras season.

Being allergic to gluten and dairy herself, Reggio started working on her cakes in 2016, so she could finally enjoy the Mardi Gras staple.
“It took a lot of research to figure out what was actually gluten, dairy, soy and egg free, all of it,” Reggio said. “And then a lot of experimenting on something that’s actually good.”

But all of the research along with the trial and error eventually paid off.
Reggio said she found a recipe that not only satisfied her craving, but also became a craving for her family, friends and now the whole community.
