SCOTT, La. ( KLFY ) — Heide Circle in Scott is closed after a truck carrying hazardous materials flipped and trapped its driver inside, authorities said.
HAZMAT teams are on the scene in the 700 block of Heide Circle where Scott Fire Department was dispatched to a major vehicle accident with entrapment at 6:39 a.m. today.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a tractor trailer transporting a highly flammable liquid
on its side, with the driver trapped inside. Firefighters were able to extricate the driver, who received minor injuries, and determine that no product was leaking.
Lafayette Fire Department’s HAZMAT unit was then requested to the incident to assist with the chemicals involved. LFDHMRT and LSP personnel confirmed that the chemical would have to be transferred into another trailer.
