LAFAYETTE, La. ( KLFY ) — One person is dead and another is in custody after an alleged hit-and-run in Lafayette this morning, authorities said.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the next-of-kin.

Stephen Dimmick, 67, was arrested and charged with hit-and-run with serious bodily injury or death as well as driving under suspension, officials said.
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened in the 800 block of Ridge Road. Deputies were called out to the scene in which a bicyclist was killed at approximately 6:30 a.m.
