NEW IBERIA, La. ( KLFY ) – KLFY News 10 partnered with Bob Giles and Giles Automotive this month to spotlight a local woman who pays it forward to a deserving friend and mother of four.
Nicole Guidry had heard of Pay It Forward before and wanted to help her dear friend, Rebecca Melancon.
“I have someone in mind, but they work in New Iberia. Rebecca Melancon and she works for the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Department. She’s a single mom of four kids. She’s a wonderful person,” says Guidry. Pay It Forward became a road trip.
Pay It Forward: A woman pays it forward to her life-long friend
“Hi, good morning, Rebecca. We have a surprise for you. I’m Sylvia Masters with KLFY TV and this is Bob Giles with Giles Automotive and we met Nicole. We have a program called Pay It Forward and we do this every month and we went up to Nicole randomly and we told her what we were doing and she immediately thought of you for this program. Basically, we go up to somebody at random and we ask them if they can think of somebody to help pay it forward to help financially. Bob will explain what he has.”
