MAMOU, La. ( KLFY ) – A Port Barre woman is wanted by authorities after a stabbing on Mardi Gras day.
Arrest made in October murder of man killed in front of 5-year-old daughter
According to the Mamou Police Department, authorities are actively looking for Kelsey Rochelle Mallet, 25 of Port Barre. On Tuesday, during the Mardi Gras festivities, just before 5 p.m., Mallet allegedly stabbed someone twice in the chest and punctured one of their lungs. The victim was taken to a local hospital for surgery and is in stable condition. Mallet is being charged with attempted first degree murder.
