Criminal history of suspect in Lafayette triple homicide dates back to 2018

LAFAYETTE, La. ( KLFY )– News 10 investigated the criminal history of the suspect accused in a triple homicide in Lafayette.

The incident happened on South College Road on April 12. Lafayette police said they were called to an apartment because of a welfare concern. There, police said they found three bodies, identified as 45-year-old Brandon Touchet, 49-year-old Eric Green , and 46-year-old Elizabeth Reames all from Lafayette.

Third victim of April 12 triple homicide identified

The suspect, Chad Credeur, is currently in the Jeff Davis Parish jail on unrelated crimes, and is facing first-degree murder charges. News 10 dug into Credeur’s criminal background.

News 10 obtained copies of Credeur’s criminal records, and they date all to way back to 2018. The most recent one, before him being a wanted suspect in the three murders, is an attempted second-degree murder charge in 2020.

According to court records in 2020, Credeur has a charge of attempted second-degree murder.
In the previous year, he had several charges including simple battery and several drug-related charges. In 2018 he was charged with domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, simple robbery and simple battery.
