Lafayette Utilities System to begin repairs on Washington Street next week, road closures expected

Starting next week, sewer repairs will be in effect on Washington Street in Lafayette.

According to the Lafayette Utilities System’s Facebook page, starting Monday, Sept. 16, LUS will begin sewer repairs on the 700 and 800 blocks of South Washington Street in Lafayette, causing road closures at that location.

According to LUS, the project will take approximately two weeks to complete. Repairs on Washington Street will be from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“To avoid potential traffic delays, motorists who frequent the affected area are advised to use an alternate route or to incorporate additional time into their schedules,” the post read. “In addition, motorists are urged to be mindful of worker safety when traveling through this area.”
