Two men hospitalized after being stabbed in Lafayette, one critical

LAFAYETTE, La. ( KLFY ) — Two men are in the hospital after being stabbed in Lafayette early Thursday morning, authorities said.

Lafayette Police responded to a 911 call at 1:48 a.m. Wednesday from a local hospital reporting two victims suffering from stab wounds. Police said the incident happened in a home in the 200 block of Buttercup Drive.

Police said the incident is the result of a domestic altercation that escalated when the suspect produced a knife and stabbed both victims in the neck area. One of the unidentified male victims is listed in critical condition, the other in stable condition, officials said.

The stabbing is under investigation. No other information has been released.
