News 15 Investigates has learned about heated text messages exchanged between the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office and Lafayette Police Department about the $25,000 bill for staffing costs ahead of the funeral of fallen police Sr. Cpl. Segus Jolivette. As previously reported, LPSO provided policing services in the city on the day of Jolivette’s funeral to allow all Lafayette police officers an opportunity to attend the service. We’re told the sheriff’s bill to LPD upset some in the law enforcement community.
